The Etiquette of Swinging

HOW TO SAY NO One of the basic etiquette's in swinging is the right of anyone to say "No." It is the golden rule. Experience has taught most people that everybody is not right for everybody else. Improper handling of a situation, however, can lead to ambivalent feelings. The swing world accepts the premise that everyone has the right to say "No" to anyone at anytime and it should be done with a simple "No, thank you". Never give an explanation, because that is what usually causes the problems. Everyone has the right to say "NO" at all times, to anyone, without explanation. Do not ever forget that.
RESPECT OTHERS' FEELINGS Beware, not everyone is comfortable in all situations, Keep your eyes open for signs that your partner, as well as others, is relaxed and enjoying themselves. If someone is not comfortable, try helping them over the rough spots. Remain polite and courteous; keep in mind that not all people feel the same about things.
DON'T BE PUSHY If you are interested in swinging with someone, let them know in an inviting way; if they are interested, they will respond positively. If they are not and say "No, thank you," do not ask WHY. No amount of sweet talk or bulling will change their mind and most likely work against you.
BE COURTEOUS Be aware that this is a lifestyle full of insecurities, uncertainties and fears. Club Embrace monthly social events

Club Embrace is a private club for registered members ONLY. All members must be 21 years of age or older.

Discretion is highly important to us. To provide the most protection for our members, we do not provide the location of our socials until you are verified and registered to attend. You will receive a confirmation e-mail with the party location only after registration. We ask that you not share the location with anyone for your privacy, as well as the privacy of our other members. In order to make your experience as enjoyable as possible, our members must observe all RULES while at any Club Embrace function.

Generally, Club Embrace will sponsor a dance which is much like a wedding reception. There is typically a cash bar and appetizers available to the members who attend. A DJ plays dance music for those who like to dance the night away, and there will be plenty of tables for our members to mingle and talk. For members' convenience, we will usually have a discounted rate on a limited number of rooms so you can stay overnight if you wish. For those not staying overnight, please DO NOT drink and drive!!!

We would like for everyone attending our functions to be creative and fun with your attire, as there is always a fun theme for the night. Our only request is that as you're arriving and leaving our social gathering please be conscious of those who might find certain garb offensive. This will help insure safety and discretion for all of us. Please wear something to cover yourself in the hallways and other public areas where non-club members may be present.

After the dance, we may offer a hospitality suite where you can visit and wind down from the party.

General Hints for Enjoyable Swinging

In the context of swinging, "couples" need not be married. They should, however, have at least a little history together and familiarity with each others' emotional needs, and be comfortable approaching others as a "couple." The general rule of thumb is that swinging works best when couples view swinging as an enhancement to their existing sexual relationship, rather than as a replacement for a failing one. As one would expect, good communication is critical in any attempt at swinging as a couple. A: Our hotel parties are very similar to a wedding reception. We hold our parties in a banquet room at a hotel with a professional DJ and lighting system. People mingle, drink, and dance while they get to know each other. If anything sexual is going to go on it is after the dance where arrangements are made on your own. Our bar meet parties are much like having a group of friends show up at a bar. You are free to mingle, drink, dance, and get to know other like minded people. We always inform the bar owner of what night we will be there. At both types of party we encourage quests to book a room at the hotel, for your safety and others dont drink and drive.

Q: What kinds of people swing?
A: All kinds, all ages, all heights, all occupations, all races, all weights.
Q: What ages attend ClubMadison parties?
A: We have people anywhere from 21 to 50+ attending our parties, but the majority will be in their late 20s to mid 40s.

Q: What do people wear to these parties?
A: Usually the men wear dress pants or Dockers. Women dress a little sexier. Think of our parties as a place to wear things you always wanted to wear but can't when going out to your normal local bar.

Q: Isn't this cheating?
A: Swingers consider this a lifestyle choice, not cheating. Cheating is deceiving your loved one. Most couples swing for the experiences they can enjoy together, not to find something different from each other. Only couples and sponsored singles are permitted to attend ClubMadison parties.

Q: What is a sponsored single?
A: A sponsored single is a person, male or female that has to come to the party with a couple they know and the couple will be responsible for them at the party.
Q: Do we have to be a married couple to attend?
A: No. We have couples who are married, couples who cohabitate, and couples who are just dating.

Q: What if I run into someone I know?
A: You might feel awkward at first, but you are both there for the same reason. Be discreet. You and the couple you know have the same things at stake if someone found out. Remember what happens at a party stays at the party.

Q: What is the orientation for and about?
A: The orientation gives you a background of how & why we started this club as well as membership and lifestyle information. We will give our advice on how to approach the lifestyle and explain more about what our parties are like.

Q: Are most of the couples who attend experienced in the lifestyle?
A: No. We have several new couples at each party. Because we have a no-pressure atmosphere people feel very secure that being inexperienced is very much o.k. at our club.

Q: What happens if we don't want to do anything sexual with anyone at the end of the night?
A: That is perfectly fine. We recommend you set your own pace, take your time. Not everyone "hooks up" at each party.

Q: Do we have to participate in the contests and/or games?

Q: What kind of music does the DJ play?
